Land Clearing in Parkland, FL

Florida Land Clearing Co clears overgrown parcels in the Parkland area of Broward County. Before we bring equipment to your property, the most useful thing you can do is decide what stays. Mature trees, landscape areas and buffer plantings you want to keep need to be identified in writing before any machine estimate becomes a reliable scope. That one step shapes everything else about the job.

Open a lot

Define the work area, then separate brush, trees and below-ground work.

What stays: Keeper trees stay. Roots and debris handling must be specified; an open lot is not automatically a building pad.

Mulch the growth

Grind suitable standing brush and smaller woody growth in place.

What stays: A layer of mulch and the root systems normally remain. Grubbing and haul-off are separate work.

Remove selected low growth around marked trees and agreed access lines.

What stays: The chosen canopy stays. Cut material is mulched or collected according to the written scope.

Three Clearing Results, One Decision

Lot clearing takes a parcel down to a workable open surface — existing vegetation, brush and smaller wood come out, and the result is an accessible, open lot ready for whatever comes next. Forestry mulching processes standing vegetation in place and leaves the chipped material on the ground rather than hauling it away. Brush and underbrush clearing targets the dense growth beneath or between trees you intend to keep, using cutting or mulching depending on what the situation calls for. Each produces a different finish, and knowing which one fits your goal keeps the scope honest from the start.

02

What to Mark Before You Call

A machine estimate without a retain list is an incomplete estimate. Walk your property and identify what you want untouched: specific trees, planted landscape areas, fencing, irrigation lines and any natural buffer you need to preserve for permit or personal reasons. If the parcel sits near a water feature or a planted edge, note its location. We ask you to name these items in writing before we measure the clearing zone, because the retained area defines the work area just as clearly as the property line does.

03

Brush Clearing: Cutting or Mulching

Brush clearing and underbrush removal in Parkland FL can be done by cutting and removing material or by mulching it in place — the right approach depends on stem size, density, what the cleared space will be used for and whether hauled material or surface mulch fits your plans. We scope brush clearing after seeing the vegetation, not before. We do not apply a universal method to every overgrown lot. If you have a mix of light brush and heavier growth, the written scope may reflect more than one approach for different zones of the same parcel.

How Forestry Mulching Works on Your Parcel

Forestry mulching processes suitable above-ground vegetation — trees, shrubs and brush within the machine's range — and leaves chipped material on the surface. It is not grubbing and does not extract stumps or roots from the ground. After mulching, below-grade root systems remain in place, and the surface layer of processed material stays unless a separate haul-away scope is agreed in writing. If your intended land use requires bare mineral soil, graded drainage or stump-free ground, those are separately scoped items. Ask us specifically, and we will scope each one.

05

Jurisdiction and Landscape Permits

If your parcel carries a Parkland mailing address, confirm whether it actually falls within the City of Parkland's municipal limits or within an unincorporated Broward County area. The rules that apply depend on where the parcel sits, not what name appears on the mail. The City of Parkland landscaping permit page and the Broward County resource are starting points, not parcel-specific clearances. A landscape permit resource is not blanket permission to clear. Your jurisdiction determines which agency you contact and which process applies.

06

A Hypothetical Scope Example

This is an example only, not a past project or a typical Parkland condition. Suppose an owner has a half-acre lot with a row of mature oaks along the north edge and a cypress stand near a low corner — both flagged to stay. The scope we would write quotes forestry mulching for the central overgrown zone, brush cutting for a narrow strip around the flagged trees and a separate line item for any wood larger than the mulcher's range. Hauling, if needed, is quoted separately. That written breakdown is what a useful estimate looks like.

07

Roots, Stumps and Larger Wood

Forestry mulching leaves roots in the ground. If a stump or below-grade root ball needs to come out, or if large-diameter wood on the parcel falls outside what a mulcher handles, that work is scoped separately and quoted as its own line item. We do not promise construction-ready ground, load-bearing soil or permanent vegetation elimination through any single clearing method. If your future use requires a specific ground condition, tell us at estimate time so we can scope what the job actually involves rather than what a general description implies.

08

Pricing and the Written Estimate

Our pricing page covers how we approach quotes. Forestry mulching projects carry a minimum of $1,200; other clearing work is quoted individually. Mobilization, material hauling, disposal, stump or root treatment and permit fees are not silently included in any base quote. The size of the clearing zone, how much retained vegetation limits machine access, whether material stays on site or gets hauled and any separately scoped items all affect the final number. Request a written scope so every line is visible before work begins. See our other Broward County work or browse our Southeast Florida service area.

Questions from property owners

Clear answers before a clearing contract

What should I identify on my property before asking for a clearing estimate?+

List every tree, planted area, fence line or buffer you want untouched. Walk the parcel and note anything near low spots or edges. A written retain list lets us define the actual clearing zone accurately. Without it, an estimate may include area you intended to protect, or exclude work you actually need quoted.

Does forestry mulching remove stumps or roots?+

No. Forestry mulching processes above-ground vegetation and leaves roots and stumps in place underground. The chipped material stays on the surface unless hauling is separately scoped. If your planned use requires stump or root removal, tell us at estimate time so that work can be quoted as its own line item.

Is a landscape permit the same as permission to clear my entire lot?+

Not automatically. A landscape permit resource addresses specific regulated activity, not blanket clearing of an entire parcel. The rules depend on your parcel's actual jurisdiction — city or unincorporated county — not just the mailing address. Confirm which agency governs your land before you assume any published resource applies to your clearing scope.

What affects the price of brush clearing or lot clearing?+

The size of the area to be cleared, density and type of vegetation, how much retained material limits machine movement, whether cut material stays or gets hauled, and any separately scoped items like stumps or larger wood all factor into the quote. Each job is measured and priced individually — we do not apply flat per-acre rates without seeing the parcel.
