Open a lot
Define the work area, then separate brush, trees and below-ground work.
What stays: Keeper trees stay. Roots and debris handling must be specified; an open lot is not automatically a building pad.

If you own a parcel near LaBelle and the brush has closed off access or you have a project planned for later, the first decision is simple: do you need the land opened up now, or does it need to be prepared for construction? Those two goals produce different clearing scopes, different material outcomes and a different written estimate. We work through that choice with you before anything gets cut.
Choose the finish, not just the machine

Define the work area, then separate brush, trees and below-ground work.
What stays: Keeper trees stay. Roots and debris handling must be specified; an open lot is not automatically a building pad.
Read the lot clearing details →Grind suitable standing brush and smaller woody growth in place.
What stays: A layer of mulch and the root systems normally remain. Grubbing and haul-off are separate work.

What stays: The chosen canopy stays. Cut material is mulched or collected according to the written scope.

A lot of Hendry County properties sit overgrown between a road and a usable interior. The fastest way to reclaim that access is targeted brush and underbrush removal — cutting back what blocks movement without committing to full clearing. If your plan is a structure, a pad or a driveway down the road, you will want a separate phase scoped around root removal, larger wood and what the ground needs to look like before that work starts. Getting both phases written into one estimate, even if only the first runs now, avoids surprises later.
Lot clearing removes surface vegetation across a defined area — trees, shrubs, vines and brush — down to a ground-level result. The work boundary matters: we clear what is inside the agreed line, and anything outside that line stays. Roots of removed trees typically remain in place unless grubbing or stump removal is separately quoted. If you have boundary markers, easements or vegetation you want to protect, those should be part of the scope conversation before we start, not a note you leave on the property the morning of the job.
Forestry mulching processes above-ground vegetation and returns it to the surface as mulched material. It is a single-pass method well suited to brush, small trees and light to moderate density stands where the goal is a clean, open surface without hauling debris off site. It does not extract stumps or remove below-ground root systems — those are separate items if your project requires them. The processed material stays on the ground. If your intended use requires bare soil or graded drainage, that distinction needs to be in the written scope before work begins.
Compare the three clearing options →Brush clearing can be done by cutting or by mulching depending on the density, the material and what finish you need. We do not apply a single method to every parcel. Dense palmetto, vine-heavy understory and scattered shrub growth may call for different approaches, and the right one depends on what you describe and what we see during scoping. What stays after brush clearing is the larger wood not included in the scope and anything outside your defined work area. If root-level clearing matters for your use, say so — it prices differently.
A LaBelle mailing address does not automatically place your parcel under city rules. Hendry County has published land clearing guidelines that are a useful starting point, but the applicable process depends on your actual parcel and its confirmed jurisdiction. We treat county resources as a reference, not as a permit approval. Before clearing starts, confirm with the relevant authority whether an application, tree survey or site plan is required for your specific property. We can scope the work; we do not make the regulatory determination for you.
A useful estimate names the work boundary, what clearing method applies, what material handling is included and what is excluded. Stump removal, root grubbing, hauling, mobilization and any grading are not silently part of a clearing quote — each should appear as a line item or a clear exclusion. If you are scoping phase one now and phase two later, the estimate should identify what vegetation outside the first phase boundary will be left standing and whether any of it needs to be marked, protected or addressed before phase two begins. Vague scope language is how cost surprises happen.
Request a property estimate →Here is an example — not a past project, just a useful illustration of how scope decisions stack: suppose an owner has a five-acre parcel with a brushy front third they want opened for vehicle access now, and a rear portion they plan to build on in two years. Phase one scope might cover forestry mulching across the front acreage within a defined boundary, with the tree line at the rear flagged and left. Phase two would separately quote stump and root work on the build area. Each phase gets its own written scope so neither budget is ambiguous.
Our forestry mulching project minimum is $1,200. Lot clearing, brush clearing and any stump or root work are quoted separately based on your parcel. What drives the number: the defined work area, vegetation density and type, site access, how material is handled and whether any wood removal or hauling is included. See our pricing page for more detail. To get a written estimate, describe your parcel, your access situation and your intended use. We work in Hendry County and across Southwest Florida.

Questions from property owners
No. Forestry mulching processes above-ground vegetation and leaves below-ground root systems in place. The mulched material stays on the surface. If your project requires stump removal or root grubbing, that is a separate scope item and priced separately. Ask us to include it in your written estimate if you need it.
It should identify the work boundary clearly and note that anything outside it stays untouched. If vegetation near the boundary line could affect a later phase — root spread, falling risk, encroachment — flag that during scoping. A good estimate addresses what stays and whether it needs marking or protection before phase two begins.
Hendry County has published clearing guidelines, but whether a permit, application or site review applies depends on your specific parcel and confirmed jurisdiction. A LaBelle mailing address alone does not determine which rules apply. Contact the relevant county or municipal authority to confirm requirements before clearing begins. We scope the work; you confirm the regulatory process.
Not always. Brush clearing typically targets undergrowth, vines and smaller woody vegetation — it may leave larger trees standing. Lot clearing usually covers the full surface across a defined area. The right choice depends on your intended use and what finish you need. Both can be quoted together if your parcel needs a mix of the two.
