Open a lot
Define the work area, then separate brush, trees and below-ground work.
What stays: Keeper trees stay. Roots and debris handling must be specified; an open lot is not automatically a building pad.

If you own a parcel in the Winter Garden area and the brush has taken over, the first decision is not which machine we use — it is what finish your property actually needs. Some owners want bare ground. Others want selective opening: entry cleared, understory cut back, and a mature canopy left standing. We work through that with you before anything runs, then put the agreed scope in writing.
Choose the finish, not just the machine
Compare all three below. Choose one to carry that service into your estimate request.

What stays: A layer of mulch and the root systems normally remain. Grubbing and haul-off are separate work.

What stays: The chosen canopy stays. Cut material is mulched or collected according to the written scope.

Lot clearing is the broadest scope — vegetation removed across a defined area so the ground is accessible and workable. Forestry mulching processes standing trees and brush through a cutting head and deposits the material on-site as mulch rather than hauling it away. Brush and underbrush clearing targets the lower layer — invasive shrubs, vines and saplings — while leaving larger trees in place. Each produces a different result. Matching the right one to your intended land use is what the written scope is for.
Not every owner wants every tree gone. A selective scope means we work around boundaries you define — a line of oaks you want to keep, a stand of mature pines along the rear, a specimen tree near the road. Before we schedule anything, we ask: which trees or zones are off-limits? Where is the clearing boundary, and how is it marked? That conversation shapes the written scope. We cannot protect what is not clearly identified, so marking or flagging before we arrive matters.
Clearing equipment needs a way in and enough room to maneuver without damaging what stays. Before we can quote your job accurately, we need to know where entry is, whether a neighbor or easement holder must grant permission, what overhead or underground utilities are nearby, and how wide the access point is. If your parcel fronts a busy road or sits behind another property, those conditions affect how we stage and sequence the work. Entry questions are practical ones, not formalities.
Compare the three clearing options →Forestry mulching cuts and processes above-ground vegetation and deposits the result as a surface layer of material. The machine does not extract stumps or pull root systems from the ground. Below-grade roots remain in place after mulching. If your intended use requires stump removal or ground preparation below the surface layer, that work is a separate scope item and is quoted separately. We will tell you what mulching can accomplish on your parcel so your expectations match the actual result before the job starts.
Stumps and significant root masses are not automatically included in a mulching or lot-clearing quote. If you have large-diameter stumps or need roots addressed to a specific depth, tell us during the estimate conversation. We scope that work separately. We do not promise construction-ready or load-bearing ground as an outcome of clearing alone. If your project will involve building, grading or drainage work afterward, those requirements belong in the scope discussion — not as assumptions built into a clearing line item.
Winter Garden parcels may fall under Orange County authority, City of Winter Garden authority, or another jurisdiction depending on your actual parcel location — a mailing address alone does not confirm municipal limits. Orange County publishes a tree removal application as a starting point; the combined tree removal application is one reference, but the applicable process depends on your specific parcel and current regulations. Confirm your parcel's jurisdiction before clearing begins. We can discuss what we know, but permit responsibility belongs to the property owner.
Request a property estimate →Our forestry mulching project minimum is $1,200. Lot clearing, brush clearing and any stump or root work are quoted individually based on the scope, site conditions, access and what the job requires to complete. Hauling, disposal, mobilization and any permit fees are not silently rolled in. The written estimate spells out what is included. See our pricing page for more on how we build quotes. If a condition on-site differs from what was described, we talk before proceeding — not after.
To put a useful estimate together for a Orange County parcel in the Central Florida region, we need a description of the property, your access point, what you want removed and what stays, and your intended use after clearing. As a hypothetical example: an owner clearing underbrush from a half-acre lot while retaining a row of mature oaks along the north line would receive a scope listing the clearing boundary, the protected zone, material handling and any separate stump items — not a single line total. Request your estimate to get started.

Questions from property owners
Yes, that is a defined scope we can quote. We need you to identify which trees are protected — flagging or marking before we arrive is the most reliable method. The written scope will note the protected zone explicitly. Equipment clearance around large root zones depends on the specific trees and working room available, so we confirm that during the estimate conversation.
Mulching leaves a surface layer of processed material and does not extract roots or stumps. What "usable" means depends on your intended next step. Foot access and light equipment access are different from building-pad preparation. We will describe the expected result for your parcel during the estimate so the outcome matches what you actually need afterward.
Knowing your parcel location, approximate size, access point, what you want cleared, and what stays helps us prepare a useful written scope. If the clearing boundary is not obvious on the ground, some marking before we visit saves time. Permit requirements depend on your jurisdiction, so confirming that in advance is the owner's responsibility before work begins.
That depends on where your parcel actually sits within municipal or county jurisdiction — a mailing address is not proof of city limits. Orange County and the City of Winter Garden may each have separate processes. We recommend checking your parcel's jurisdiction directly with the relevant planning or permitting office before requesting any clearing work.
